Freight Exchange North America chooses Rand McNally TND™ 760 Fleet Edition
F/X upgrades it’s in cab-communication to better serve its customers and drivers.
Chicago, Illinois, October 17, 2011 – Freight Exchange of North America (F/X) of Chicago,
has chosen the Rand McNally TND 760™ over other major devices to outfit its entire fleet with
in-cab communication. F/X is a North American, full truckload carrier operating nearly 300
power units from its terminals in Southern California, El Paso, Dallas and Chicago. After an
exhaustive research and demonstration process, the choice was easy for Freight Exchange
President, Todd Bennett.
“We took our time considering all of our options, but the final decision was based off what we
felt would best serve our customers and drivers. Timeliness and care have always been our top
concerns and we are confident that this cutting-edge technology will help us deliver loads even
more efficiently and safely than before.” said Bennett.
“I can better manage my fleet and have greater peace of mind with the TND™ 760. Rand
McNally offered us a superior device at a competitive price and we are all excited to be the first
to pioneer this technology.” said Fred Alaimo, Vice President of Operation at Freight Exchange.
F/X expects to have its entire fleet equipped with the TND™ 760 within the next 10 months.
The TND™ 760 will not only save F/X money and headaches, but it will also bring value to their
customers and drivers. Customers will enjoy the technologies real time tracking and tracing
capabilities, advanced benchmarking, and a customized portal for customer requests. Drivers will
find the detailed mapping and vehicle-specific metric, comprehensive fuel- and driver-performance
reporting and visibility to engine diagnostics useful
As announced in early August, the TND™ 760 combines Rand McNally’s award-winning
navigation with a robust mobile communication system – all for less than $800. Integrated into a
truck’s on-board computer, the TND™ 760 sends and receives information via both Wi-Fi and
cellular methods. The in-cab device is designed to be set up in less than 30 minutes and does
not require the installation of a separate “black box” monitoring unit like traditional mobile
communication systems.
